I’m Lynn Dowdell, a speaker, wine and spirits educator, and founder of The Dowdell Experience, where I help entrepreneurs and organizations elevate their client engagement, brand experience, and leadership presence. My journey has been rooted in two core values: connection and community.
As a Wine Curator and Educator with Vin Collective, I found a unique space where luxury, education, and experience intersect. Whether guiding a curated tasting or teaching the intricacies of high-end wine and spirits, I use these experiences to foster connection—creating moments that are not only luxurious but deeply memorable.
Beyond luxury, I’m deeply committed to community service. My work as a Community Service Officer and mentor with organizations like the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center allows me to build trust, offer resources, and empower women and underrepresented voices. All of these experiences led to The Dowdell Experience, a platform where I merge client engagement strategies with leadership, luxury branding, and social impact.
Balancing exclusivity with broader client engagement:
Exclusivity in luxury isn’t about being unreachable—it’s about intentionality. I’ve learned that people don’t just want a product; they want to feel chosen, seen, and valued. I balance exclusivity with inclusivity by curating personalized touchpoints. Whether it’s a private tasting with Vin Collective or a high-touch consulting session through The Dowdell Experience, I create environments that feel special—without being alienating.

One moment that stands out is hosting a bourbon experience for a small business client who wanted to reward her top clients with something unforgettable. One challenge is representation—especially in male-dominated industries like spirits, luxury branding, and executive leadership. I’ve often had to prove my expertise in rooms where I was the only woman, and often the only Black woman. But that challenge also created opportunity.
By mentoring through platforms like Nasdaq’s Milestone Circles and volunteering across Tampa Bay, I’ve been able to uplift women and create access points. Whether it’s speaking at leadership summits or helping someone prepare their first pitch, I turn barriers into blueprints.

Storytelling is the heartbeat of luxury. I always start with identifying the emotional essence of a brand or experience—what does it make people feel?
From there, I layer in personal touchpoints, cultural relevance, and values alignment. With Vin Collective, for instance, I often use history, terroir, and tasting notes as metaphors for personal growth. With The Dowdell Experience, I turn brand challenges into narratives of transformation and elevation.

The Next Five Years for Lynn:
