Investments According to Rebecca Moreira

When it comes to investing money to grow wealth, majority of business investors have to have a serious think. Here is Rebecca Moreira, the founding partner and CEO of Glenwood Equity, helping expats globally to make best investment decisions. Her work extends financial peace of mind to investors by making best US property investment choices. She has been leading Glenwood Equity, in partnership with her husband, to offer lucrative investment opportunities to expats. Glenwood Equity is a commercial real estate investment company seeking equity investors to acquire multifamily apartment complexes in growing and economically diverse markets in the United States. Here is more from Rebecca …
About Glenwood Equity:
A great way to create a passive stream of income is through real estate investments. Glenwood Equity works with expats to assist them in securing their financial future. Founded with the vision to offer financial freedom to expats, Glenwood Equity, stops the worry for life savings and financial markets overriding trends. Rebecca says, “After years of seeking stable real estate opportunities around the world, we realized the U.S. had the best opportunities. We are not boom-or bust investors. We wanted long-term stability with our money, and we knew investors in the region wanted that too. That is why we created Glenwood Equity. We have paved the way for ex-pats and international investors, like ourselves, gain access to stable, cash flowing real estate in the U.S.
Now, we have built a thriving business and along with our team, we have more than 3000 units with $400M assets”.
Rebecca Moreira’s Greatest Achievement:
“My greatest achievement is becoming a mother. It is the hardest and most rewarding role I have. My husband and I are working hard to build our company so we can offer our son and future children a life of financial security and freedom. But also, to demonstrate self-reliance and to develop skills that bring value to society so that they can have the freedom to follow their passions.
I believe it is important to show our children that anything is possible with commitment and consistency, and nothing is achieved overnight. It takes time and dedication to make incredible things happen. We simply must be patient and trust the process”. She is a caring and inspiring mother and a great life-partner.
Rebecca’s Motivation:
Rebecca drives through challenges. She accepts challenges and proves herself. She is a strategist and an ambitious person. Talking about her driving forces she states, “Earlier in my adult life I used to love it when people would underestimate me. That was my biggest driving force. In my head, I would say, ‘challenge accepted.’ Even during challenging times, I would think how much I wanted to prove that person wrong.
I still have that fire inside me, but I care less about what others think of me now. What they think is their business. I have already reached new heights and a level I never thought possible.
Now, I stay motivated by listening to podcasts and reading books from other high-performing individuals and surrounding myself with people who inspire me. It helps me to keep perspective and to keep going.
My other driving force is my family. My husband and I work hard on our business now to have more freedom later in our lives to spend with our children and grandchildren”.
Glenwood Equity works with a Difference:
“As expats, we understand and enjoy all the benefits that come with the expat lifestyle. The higher income, the ability to work alongside many nationalities and bring an international perspective as well as learn from other international professionals.
The fate that comes to many expats is the lure of the lifestyle so 1 year turns into 3 years; then 10 years; and 25…
So, as expats, it is even more important to think about how we are going to support ourselves and our family when we retire because there is generally no government support for us in our home countries due to the lack of tax contributions or the instability of local governments and currency. Or frankly, any reliance on any state due to the question of – ‘Where will I retire!?’ We all want to have the freedom to decide.
Yet too many expats are not contributing enough to their financial future to sustain their current lifestyle or provide a life of financial security in retirement. Many think they must sacrifice their risk tolerance to achieve rewarding returns and to close the gap between now and where they want to be.
But that doesn’t have to be the case because we understand how exciting and rewarding expat life is and don’t want to give that up and we know our investors don’t want to either. So, after years of research and countless legal and tax consultations, we have simplified the way for expats and international investors in the Gulf region and beyond to access stable cash flowing real estate in regulated and trusted U.S. markets. Expats deserve to have stability in their portfolio and to reach their retirement goals faster”.
Rebecca’s Priorities and Future Vision:
My current priority is to help expats and international investors increase their awareness about their financial future and consider and act on how they will sustain their lifestyle when they retire.
My 5-year goal is to grow my network to reach other expats in the region, passively invest a portion of their portfolio globally in U.S. real estate. Our investors invest around $200K USD (735k Aed). The minimum investment is typically $100k (370k Aed).
I also want to develop a web3/blockchain strategy that can increase transparency and trust in our processes within the next 5 years.
Among all this, I would also like to have another child in the next 5 years.
An Advice for Women and Mothers:
Women are great financial decision-makers. They are generally more risk averse and have much less ego when making decisions about money and investments compared to men.
That’s why we encourage investors (whether male or female) to include their spouse in the investment decision making process. Female investors come to us when they feel their family’s financial situation needs more stability and clarity.
Women shouldn’t fear money or shy away from asking questions relating to their financial health. Any investment professional who overcomplicates their investment or confuses their client’s is a red flag in my opinion!
Rebecca’s Inspiration:
I am a big advocate for coaching and mentors. I currently have three mentors. Two of which are a married couple- Brad and Jen Sumrok. Their dedication to educate and enable ordinary people like me access real estate investments where our wealth has doubled in less than 4 years is incredible. They have devoted their life to growth personally, professionally, spiritually, and romantically, and it inspires me to keep developing all areas of my life.
Balance in all areas of life is important – take the ‘wheel of life’ test and see where you lack balance. It may surprise you!
