Handle your hair with care

Flaunt your hair with a little care!

Hair has multiple roles in our life. It is an important part of our body and has its significance. It protects the scalp and our brain from getting sun-burnt in summers and from getting frozen in winters.

Apart from that, most important role it plays is to add to our beauty. Healthy and beautiful hair finalizes the personality. Moreover, if you have kept your hair healthy and good-looking, it also boosts up the confidence during your social interactions.

However, just like any other part of our body, hair also requires nourishment. Some people, especially females including me, suffer from hair damage.

There are multiple ways to keep your hair healthy, shiny and strong. Making some additions to diet may contribute and has proven useful to improve health for hair. Taking care of hair from outside is also essential. If you, like me, are also facing hair problems, here are some tips listed below to try for healthy hair.

Let us start with washing the hair

I understand how important it is to keep the hair neat and clean and how difficult it is to do so if we are going out daily. Dusty winds and weather contribute to the need of washing the hair daily. But I want you to know, if you don’t already know, it has been found that over-washing the hair is really damaging. It deprives the hair of proteins and natural oils that keep the hair healthy. It is ideal to wash and shampoo the hair three times a week. Moreover, shampoo must be chosen best suited to your hair texture.

Healthy diet, healthy hair

Taking care of hair from outside only is not enough. You have to be healthy from the inside as well to keep the hair healthy. A well-balanced diet is essential to take care for your hair. Drinking a lot of water prevents the hair fall. Eat a lots of fruits, raw vegetables, legumes, whole grain, salmon, and dairy products. Proteins and vitamin A are healthy for hair. Also include leafy vegetables, carrots, and cod liver oil to your diet plan.

Keep away from heat

Straightening or blow drying your hair regularly is going to damage the hair eventually. Heating the hair too much dries the natural surface moisture leaving the hair rough, dry and frail resulting in hair fall. So it is better to embrace your natural hair because you are beautiful the way you are!

Chemicals are bad!

Too much use of chemicals is going to ruin your hair. Hair styling products or getting the hair straight with use of chemicals and other hair treatments are bad for hair. Chemicals deprive the hair of its natural texture leaving it fragile. So, try using such products rarely only.

Natural remedies for healthy hair

I have tried both natural and artificial products and natural products have always won my heart when it comes to hair care. You should also try some of the natural remedies if you have got your hair damaged like I did. Some options are listed below.

  • Aloe Vera

I have tried aloe vera gel and, trust me, it works wonder for the hair. Just take an aloe vera leaf, peel its outer hard layer off, collect the gel and rinse your hair and scalp with it. You may also leave it on for an hour or so and you will feel the difference when you wash it off. Try doing this regularly.

  • Oil your hair regularly

Massaging your hair and scalp with olive oil or coconut oil is also essential for healthy hair. You may also try almond or mustard oil for and leave it on overnight for best results.

  • Egg’s yellow is a good friend for hair

You can get soft and shiny hair with regular use of egg’s yolk. You may apply it directly or with combination of olive oil.

  • Amla and lemon

If you have not tried amla yet, you should try it now. Amla has been in use from old times as a remedy for damaged hair. Best to use with combination of lemon juice.

  • Yogurt

Applying plain yogurt to the hair and scalp is also very effective and gives a bright shine and smoothness to the hair.

  • When honey meets banana

Mixture of honey and banana gives you the baby hair. Make a banana paste and add some honey to it in a right proportion. Apply to your hair and leave it on for an hour or so. You will get your hair smooth as baby’s hair when you are done washing it.
